I was once a strong, active boy who loved football and climbing trees. But one accident changed everything. I woke up in a hospital after eight days—paralyzed. While I slowly regained use of one hand, my legs never recovered.

What hurts most is knowing the damage worsened because I was taken to the hospital improperly—without a stretcher or support. Maybe, just maybe, things could’ve been different.

I left my village to study veterinary science, but the mountains always called me back. Trekking became my passion and my livelihood—until the 2015 earthquake changed everything. While helping with relief work, a fall from a cliff left me paralyzed.

One moment I was guiding others, the next I was being carried to a hospital, my dreams of Everest and Italy slipping away. Life didn’t end, but it changed forever

I grew up in Ku, a small, quiet village in the high mountains of Nepal, where life was simple and hard, and beauty lived beside struggle. I herded goats, carried wood, fetched water, and listened to my mother’s stories under the stars. But this is also the story of a deep loss—when my mother, the soul of our home, fell ill and slipped away in front of my eyes. I held her and cried like a bird in the jungle. After that day, the house felt emptier, the mountains quieter, and my heart heavier. And yet, through that sorrow, I found the strength she left behind in me. This is my tribute to her—to love, to family, and to the kind of strength only loss can teach.”
